Foreword

Hello and Happy New Year to all!

To some of you who may not know me, allow me to introduce myself first. My name is Karl and I’ve been quite known for a couple of things:

• as an Urban Roamer
• and as that guy who won the top prize in a now-defunct television quiz game show.

Yeah, that guy.

But thank you for taking time to check out this new venture of a site that I have put up. This is a project that I have pondered upon for the past year as I was going through changes in my life as far as my finances are concerned. To be a bit more precise, it was a project that came about out of my growing interest to learn and achieve a successful freelancing career and a good financial health.

Now you may say, aren’t you already successful and rich? Hell no, Admittedly, I am still finding my way as far as my career is concerned. Besides, that win was ancient history and it has already been used up to buy that house and other necessities (which are still not enough but that’s another story).

To be honest, despite having won the top prize in a quiz game show, it was only in the past few years that I began to understand better the concepts of financial well-being. Not that I am unaware about it at the time, but my knowledge was limited which led to perhaps some bad decisions made.

And while I have embarked on a freelance career for more than 2 years now, it is only recently that I’ve come to understand what it takes to be a successful one, a potential of receiving more that I deserve to have.

With these realizations, I’ve come to realize that many others may be as unaware as I was when it comes to freelancing and financial health. With more and more people going into freelancing, there will be those who need the guidance as I did when I was starting out. Even today, I still do. More importantly, they deserve to reap the rewards as well.

Thus, I have decided to come up with this site. It is a personal journey towards career and financial fulfillment, something many of us, especially freelancers, aspire for. It is a continuing journey but you are welcome to come along too as I relate to the best that I can as to what I have learned in freelancing and financial education.

As this is a new venture, and considering I also have another, more established site I’m maintaining, I don’t have a regular schedule for posts on this site yet. At the moment, I am still figuring out the best frequency so please bear with me during this transition.

I hope that with this site and the entries that will be published here, you will get to learn a lot as I have as I go on this journey for a successful freelance career and a bright financial future. I also hope to hear from you as well if you have any questions or ideas. Let’s learn and help each other out here.
